Well........ my sixteenth birthday is right around the corner, March 21st. I'm not that excited, it's just another year. Lately I've been really happy and doing a lot better in school, A's in Geometry, English, Chemistry, Studio in Art. Trying my best to get those in AP European History and Spanish. I know I'm right around the corner for that in Spanish, around and 85 or so, but AP Euro is about an 80 and I really need to focus more if I want to get that A.
I talked to my guidance counselor a couple weeks ago, made my schedule for next year. I'm taking College American History, College Spanish IV, IB Chemistry, Drawing and Painting, Media Arts I, English 11 Honors, and Trigonometry. We also talked about colleges which kind of intimidated me knowing I'm so close to being all on my own. I'm thinking about being a Fine Arts major at Pace University in Manhattan. I know my stuff is pretty weak right now, but with this studio art class, my two other arts next year, and then AP Studio in my senior year, I'm sure I'll be fine.
I'm getting really into reading now, which probably makes me sound really immature saying that NOW being nearly sixteen. I'm reading The Red Badge of Courage for English and it is just brilliant the way the author writes. He uses such little detail, but paints a larger picture than any other writer could. I'm also reading Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto for my own sake (and for a little AP Euro extra credit). I'm only in the intro right now but I can tell I will love it. Marx's ideas are so intelligent and real. It's a shame communism fails in practice. Living in a world of only middle class would be perfect, sorry if you're rich.
Besides all of that jazz, I'm basically just the same as before. Thanks for reading this. Please "watch" me, critique my artwork, or just say hi. I'm always open to conversations.
